The Rules This Checker Applies
The estimate is built from the criteria that appear consistently across recent SSC CHSL notifications:
- Education: a pass in Class 12 or equivalent from a recognised board. Some post categories have carried additional requirements in particular years, which is one reason the result here is an estimate rather than a ruling.
- Age: the standard band has commonly been 18 to 27 years, calculated against a cut-off date stated in that year's notification rather than the date you apply.
- Age relaxation: applied by category, following the relaxations SSC has published across recent cycles.
- Typing requirement: whether the post category you select has typically included a typing or skill test.
Why the Cut-Off Date Matters More Than You Think
Age eligibility is calculated against a fixed cut-off date published in the notification, not against the closing date for applications and not against the exam date. Those can sit months apart, and candidates near either end of the band are the ones this catches out. If you are close to the boundary, find the cut-off date in the current notification before you rely on any calculator, including this one.

Download the current notification from ssc.gov.in and read the eligibility section for the specific post category you are targeting.
