This is a static site with no backend and no user accounts — here's exactly what that means for your data.

Overview
CGLTyping ("we," "us," "this site") is an independent website with no user accounts. Almost everything runs in your browser. The one exception is the optional WhatsApp sign-up described below. This policy explains what data is involved when you use the site.
Information We Collect
Your typing test history (scores, dates, WPM, accuracy) is saved using your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device — it is not sent to us or any third party. Clearing your browser data or using a different browser/device will remove this history. Your progress in the typing course is kept the same way.
If you choose to give us your WhatsApp number, we store it on our server. See WhatsApp Updates below.
If you use the Eligibility Checker, the details you enter (date of birth, qualification, category) are processed entirely in your browser and are not stored or transmitted anywhere.
If you email us via a "Contact" link, your email address and message are handled by your own email provider, subject to their privacy policy — we only see what you choose to send us.
Standard web hosting logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited) may be collected automatically by our hosting provider, as is standard for any website, for security and performance purposes.
Cookies and Advertising
This site uses cookies in two ways. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies to measure how the site is used, and Google AdSense serves advertising using third-party cookies. The site also shows banner ads through Adsterra and sponsored content recommendations through MGID, advertising networks that may set their own cookies or use similar technologies to deliver and measure those ads:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on those visits.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time via Google Ads Settings.
- You can opt out of third-party vendor cookies more broadly at aboutads.info or optout.networkadvertising.org.

Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and use the site — which pages are visited, roughly where visitors come from, and which device and browser they use. This is aggregate measurement; we do not use it to identify individuals, and we do not sell or share this data.
- Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named
_gaand similar) in your browser to distinguish one visitor from another across pages and visits. - Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses. IP addresses are used in transit to derive approximate location and are then discarded.
- You can opt out of Google Analytics on every website by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Browser-level tracking protection, private browsing, or blocking cookies for this site will also prevent it.
WhatsApp Updates
Before a typing test or course lesson, we offer free SSC exam updates and typing tips on WhatsApp, along with offers such as our ₹99 study notes. Giving your number is optional; you can skip and the test works the same.
- What we store: your 10-digit mobile number, the page you signed up on, the date, the consent wording you agreed to, and whether our welcome message was delivered. We don’t ask for your name or anything else.
- What we use it for: only to send you the exam updates, typing tips and offers you signed up for. We don’t sell or rent your number, and we don’t give it to anyone except Meta’s WhatsApp Business service, which delivers the messages.
- Where it’s kept: in a database on our web host (Hostinger). To stop abuse, the sign-up form also keeps a scrambled, one-way fingerprint of your IP address for one day. The address itself is never stored.
- Stopping messages: reply STOP to any of our WhatsApp messages and we stop messaging you. To have your number deleted completely, contact us from or about that number.
- Cookies: after you sign up, a cookie named
cgl_leadstops the offer from appearing again for a year. If you skip,cgl_lead_skiphides it for a day. Neither cookie contains your number.
Third-Party Services
Four third-party services are embedded on this site: Google Analytics 4, Google AdSense, Adsterra (banner advertising) and MGID (sponsored content recommendations). We embed no other tracking scripts. If you sign up for WhatsApp updates, your number is shared with Meta (WhatsApp Business) only to deliver those messages.
Fonts used on this site are self-hosted, not loaded from Google Fonts' servers, so no font-related tracking occurs.
Children's Privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your Rights
Practice history, course progress and eligibility-checker inputs are stored only in your own browser, so you can delete them at any time by clearing your browser's storage for this site. No request to us is needed. For a WhatsApp number you gave us, you can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it or delete it through our contact page.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the site evolves. The "last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent change.
