SSC CGL PYQ 2025 – Tier 1 & Tier 2 Previous Year Papers
What the Combined Graduate Level papers actually contain, year by year and subject by subject — and how to work through them without wasting the good ones.

They are different exams with different pressures, and PYQs from one tell you almost nothing about the other. Treat them separately from day one.

SSC CGL PYQ by Year
Not all years are equally useful. The Tier 2 structure was overhauled in 2022, so papers from before that follow a format that no longer exists — useful for practising concepts, misleading for practising the exam.

The two most requested sets are SSC CGL PYQ 2025 and SSC CGL PYQ 2024, and that instinct is right — they are the closest match to what you will sit. Practical order: solve 2024 and 2025 first under full exam conditions, keep one recent paper completely untouched as a final mock, and use everything older as topic practice rather than as a timed test.
SSC CGL Tier 1 PYQ
Tier 1 is a qualifying speed filter. One hundred questions in sixty minutes means thirty-six seconds per question including reading time, and there is negative marking for wrong answers.

What past Tier 1 papers consistently show: General Awareness and English are the fast sections, and quantitative aptitude is where candidates lose time rather than marks. If your PYQ attempts keep ending with unattempted questions, the fix is almost never "study more quant" — it is attempting GA and English first and coming back.
SSC CGL Tier 2 PYQ
Tier 2 is a different animal: longer, modular, and it is what actually determines your rank and which post you get. The current structure runs in sessions, combining mathematical abilities and reasoning in one, English and general awareness in another, plus a computer knowledge module and a Data Entry Speed Test.
Two things past Tier 2 papers make obvious that no syllabus document does:
- The quantitative section is deeper, not just longer. Tier 1 quant rewards speed; Tier 2 quant rewards knowing the actual method. Candidates who cleared Tier 1 on shortcuts tend to stall here.
- English carries serious weight. It is one of the highest-scoring sections available to you and one of the least prepared for, which makes it the cheapest rank improvement on the paper.

Subject-Wise SSC CGL PYQ
Once you have attempted two or three full papers, stop solving whole papers and start solving one subject at a time across many papers. That is where PYQs stop being a test and start being a syllabus.
SSC CGL Quantitative Aptitude PYQ
The recurring blocks across recent papers are arithmetic (percentage, profit and loss, ratio, time and work, time speed distance), algebra, geometry, mensuration, trigonometry and data interpretation. Arithmetic is the highest-frequency block and the most improvable.
SSC CGL Reasoning PYQ
Series, analogy, classification, coding-decoding, blood relations, direction sense, syllogism, paper folding and mirror images dominate. Reasoning is where PYQ practice pays back fastest, because the question types are a closed set — solve enough past papers and you have effectively seen the whole menu.
SSC CGL English PYQ
Error spotting, sentence improvement, fill in the blanks, synonyms and antonyms, idioms and phrases, cloze test and reading comprehension. Vocabulary from past papers repeats across cycles more than any other subject, which makes maintaining a wordlist from PYQs unusually high value.
SSC CGL General Awareness PYQ
Static GK — history, polity, geography, economics and general science — plus current affairs. Past papers tell you the depth expected, which is usually shallower than aspirants fear and broader than they prepare for.

For an SSC CGL PYQ PDF free download, go to the Commission first: released papers and official answer keys are published on ssc.gov.in, and appear in the candidate login on the regional SSC portals during a live cycle. They cost nothing and they are the source every paid compilation is built from.
Treat anything circulating on messaging groups with suspicion until you have checked it against the official key — a large share of freely shared papers are memory-based reconstructions, and a mis-transcribed option teaches you a wrong method you will not discover until the exam hall.
SSC CGL PYQ PDF in Hindi
SSC CGL is a bilingual paper. Every question except the English Comprehension section appears in both Hindi and English, and you choose your medium at the time of attempting. There is no separate "Hindi paper" — the official released PDFs contain both languages in the same document.
One thing worth knowing before you commit to a medium: technical and scientific terms in the Hindi version are sometimes literal translations that read awkwardly, and a fair number of Hindi-medium candidates read the English version of quantitative and reasoning questions purely because the phrasing is shorter. Attempting a past paper in both mediums once will tell you which is faster for you, and that is a genuine time saving worth finding out before exam day rather than during it.
Where PDFs Stop Working
A PDF gives you the questions. It does not give you the two things that actually move a score: knowing which chapters your mistakes cluster in, and being able to attempt only those questions until the cluster disappears.
Doing that by hand means maintaining your own error log across twenty papers — which is real work, and which is where most people quietly stop.
